Skite City
We're so lucky.
We get to see some gorgeous finished articles, especially before they are given away and may leave good old N.Z. permanently. Have a look at these lovelies to get your creative juices flowing. We don't always have the patterns, but will advise what we do know, and as we go along, we'll try and get more details for you. September 2010 Here's a couple of finished projects that we got to admire this week. First is Susan's elephants, made using the fabric I dyed myself. They look great. Must get some more dying done as soon as the weather improves.
And this gorgeous african creation is by Mary for her son's 21st, but shush, don't tell him - it's a surprise!! We helped to pick some of the fabrics.
August 2010 I know this was completed a while ago after one of Jen Magnus's Crazy House Quilt Block classes, but I really think you should all see Margot's "Cats in the Casbah" wall quilt, which she made as a present. Each block has some 3D elements going on and all before Avatar!!! Well done Margot and thank you.
Then Ellen showed me a quilt she started some years ago and is now inspired to finish. If we can get enough interest, we'll make a class of it. Lovely glowing bright flowers on black. Classic!!
And last, but by no means least, a precious little cot quilt using some of my advice and the wonderful Beatrice Potter prints. Please come and remind me of your name as I must confess to forgetfulness.
July 2010 Ellen sure has something to skite about. She came to the first Scrappity Do Dah class on 9th July and before the second class was held, she'd finished her blocks, sewn them together and quilted and bound her creation called "Joie d'ete" as it was all made from French fabrics, including the backing! No mucking about for this girl!!
28 April 2010 Look at these lovely quilts made on our recent Beginners Quilting class. The pattern is a classic which works well with all sorts of fabrics. ![]()

It was a great course with a lovely group of women and some amazing results at the end. Well done ladies. I know I had a great time with you. Here's is Brenda's newly finished quilt "Pretty in Pink", using the crazy patchwork block. Lovely eh? ... and it's going to be for sale in the Great Wairarapa Quilt Sale 14th & 15th November 2009 in the Greytown Town Hall. Eftpos will be available!! ![]() October 2009 Meet Angelina mermaid, made by Ann Hay, a Wairarapa dollmaker. Angelina is also heading away from our shores to a new home in South Africa. ![]()
If anyone is interested in a class, Ann is willing to run one sometime next year (2010).
August 2009 Toni's Kiwiana quilt has just left the country to go to London. I believe the pattern came from Ssss ... Sssp ... Sspp ... that chain store whom we don't mention!! ![]()

This luscious baby was finished after a Jewel Box Block class we ran a few months ago. Don't the colours look great against the black?
