Basic Jewellery Techniques

This 2 hour class will cover the following points:

What basic tools are necessary (round nose & chain nose pliers, side cutters)
What materials are commonly used (craft wire, soft flexible wire, semi-precious wire, threads etc)
How to do a basic wire loop
How to do a wrapped wire loop
How to crimp flexible wire (with or without crimping pliers)
How to use wire guards and crimp covers for extra strength and professional looking finish
How to attach a clasp securely and using the right clasp for the project
Attaching extension chains
Attaching ends to ribbon or cord so clasps can be added

All materials will be supplied on the day. If, however you have a project on which you’d like some advice, please bring it with you.
