  • 0.5m border
  • 1m batting or pellon
  • 1m backing fabric
  • 0.15m fabric for binding
  • 0.5m Vliesofix
  • Co-ordinating thread
  • Rotary cutter, mat and ruler
  • Square ruler, if you have one
  • Sewing machine, cleaned, with new needle
  • Paper scissors

The colours and prints on the nine co-ordinating fabrics must be different for the maximum effect and I recommend that you choose a variety of lights, darks, tone on tone patterns and feature prints for the block.
